How is PawTex® different from BioThane?

Both are built in essentially the same way: a woven polyester core with a PVC coating (for BioThane® this applies to the Beta series we stock). They differ in manufacturer and range – we stock BioThane in six widths and 43 colors, including engraving and printing; PawTex® in five widths and 32 colors, and with comparable strength it is more affordable.

What does it mean that PawTex® meets REACH?

REACH is a European regulation that governs the use of chemical substances and restricts the content of selected hazardous substances in products. The manufacturer of PawTex declares compliance with REACH requirements, which is important information especially for a material intended for products we come into regular contact with – such as collars, leashes or horse equipment.

Is it suitable for dogs that pull?

Yes. The strength of the webbing comes from the woven polyester core, while the outer layer protects it and makes maintenance easier. For large, heavy or strong dogs we recommend choosing the 25 mm width and always combining it with quality hardware that matches the dog's size and strength.

How should I clean it?

Simply wash off ordinary dirt with water and wipe with a soft cloth. For tougher or dried-on dirt, use a mild soap or dish soap. Avoid harsh cleaning agents, solvents and steel wool, which could damage or scratch the surface.

Yes, the material is declared as resistant to cold and weather – it stays flexible even in winter.

Which width should I choose?

As a guide: the smallest breeds and light accessories 9 mm, small breeds 13 mm, small to medium breeds 16 mm, medium dogs 20 mm, large dogs and harnesses 25 mm. You will find the stripes in actual size above on this page.

Do the shades on screen match reality?

They are only indicative – it depends on your monitor and phone display. If you need an exact shade, order a sample book.

What PawTex® is good for

PawTex® is made for gear that takes a beating outdoors – rain, mud and everyday use don't bother it, and when you get home you simply rinse it off with water.

Collars and leashes – the most common use of PawTex, from fine versions for small breeds to wider ones for large dogs.
Harnesses – especially the 20 and 25 mm widths, which offer a larger strap surface.
Horse halters and other equipment – a durable material suitable for everyday use in the stable and outdoors.
Accessories and light gear – neck lanyards, loops, handles, grips or various auxiliary straps. The 9 and 13 mm widths are great for finer products.

PawTex® is not BioThane®

PawTex® and BioThane® are not interchangeable – each material has its own shades, surface and character. That is exactly why they complement each other so well and open up even more possibilities for original color combinations.
